South Carolina Waterfalls Map
The map below is one of the most comprehensive collections of South Carolina waterfalls in one place. There is over 600 named waterfalls and a substantial number of unnamed and undocumented waterfalls throughout the whole state. Most of the waterfalls are located in Oconee, Pickens and Greenville Counties, but there’s a surprising amount in the Midlands and Pee Dee area of the state.
The color of each marker corresponds with the type of property that a waterfall is located on and by default the blue and red markers are enabled, the green, orange and black markers are disabled, to view them click the double arrows in the top left of the map and click each box that you want to see.
- Blue Markers: Waterfalls that are named and located on public property.
- Red Markers: Waterfalls that are named and located on private property.
- Green Markers: Waterfalls that are located on public property that have been discovered and weren’t given a name, or waterfalls that have been found with LiDAR and haven’t been documented yet.
- Orange Markers: Waterfalls that are located on private property that have been discovered and weren’t given a name, or waterfalls that have been found with LiDAR and haven’t been documented yet.
- Black Markers: Waterfalls that are located on restricted property (normally consists of public water reservoirs) and are forbidden to visit. It is extremely illegal to visit waterfalls on restricted property!
