Overview

One of the only considerable drops on Lynches River that I know of. Sadly the bridge and the shoals has fell victim to people that like to paint their names on everything!

Driving Directions

From Kershaw, South Carolina. From the intersection of US-521 BUS, head east on US-601 for 13.2 miles and turn left onto State Road S-13-823/Wintertide Drive. Drive 0.9 mile and park on the left side of the road, just passed the bridge.

From Lancaster, South Carolina. From the intersection of US-521 BUS, head north on US-521 for 1.4 miles and take the SC-903 exit toward Lancaster/Hartsville and turn right onto SC-903 (Flat Creek Road). Drive 4.1 miles and turn left onto Potter Road. Drive 450 feet and turn right onto Taxahaw Road. Drive 11.8 miles and turn left onto US-601. Drive 2.3 miles and turn left onto State Road S-13-823/Wintertide Drive. Drive 0.9 mile and park on the left side of the road, just passed the bridge.

From Pageland, South Carolina. From the intersection of SC-9, head south on US-601 for 3.5 miles and turn right onto State Road S-13-823/Wintertide Drive. Drive 0.9 mile and park on the left side of the road, just passed the bridge.

Hiking Directions

From the parking. Head towards the bridge and take the trail on the right down to the shoal.
